FAQs
What is Psychotherapy?
Therapy has come along way. Traditionally referred to as “talk therapy", psychotherapy’s simple goal is to make a person feel better. While keeping the goal simple, psychotherapists use sophisticated, evidence-based interventions to meet the person’s needs one-on-one.
How often do we meet?
It may take awhile to feel comfortable with a person. I recommend we meet for at least 1 to 3 sessions to clearly assess and determine your needs, and if this practice is a good fit. After the 3rd session, I can help you determine what is the most helpful frequency of therapy.
What should I expect?
The therapeutic experience is different for everyone. My hope is that through therapy, you start to feel better. It is not a guarantee; at times therapy can cause distress feelings to arise. When those feelings happen, I will do my best to help you navigate through them.
What should I know about you?
I became a therapist because of how special it is to be able to meet with others in a deeply profound way. It is my hope that as we work together, I can walk with you on your healing journey.
What insurance do you take?
I currently accept United Health Care (UHC), pending HMSA.
What if you don’t take my insurance?
It is common for therapists to offer full-fee services only. Please reach out and I will do my best to work with you and your situation. For more info, check out my page on Good Faith Estimate and Superbill.
