Meet the therapist
Shion (“she-OWN”) is a biracial therapist born and raised on Oahu, Hawaii. She received her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Hawaii Pacific University in 2019. Upon receiving her degree, Shion was quickly employed by her graduate internship site, with the Queens Health System’s Day Treatment program(s) at their intensive, outpatient program. There, she honed her clinical counseling skills, working with a wide variety of psychiatric issues within diverse communities.
Shion currently works for the Department of Education in school-based behavioral health, specializing in planning and implementing evidence based interventions within public school setting. She particularly enjoys working with students with depression and anxiety challenges. Her favorite intervention to use in this setting is exposure therapy for anxiety.
Hobbies are being a couch potato at home with her dogs, Bowie and Opihi. Enjoy a nice afternoon walk, watching sunsets, and going to the beach.
